The inaugural AI-Driven Modeling & Forecasting for Democratic Development and Decline (AIM4D) Conference, presented by the AIM-3D Lab at the University of Notre Dame, will open with a series of public keynote panels exploring the dynamics of democratic development and decline and the growing role of artificial intelligence in modeling, forecasting, and explaining these processes across political systems and historical contexts.

The public program also marks the 10th anniversary of the Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) Project, bringing together leading scholars and researchers working at the intersection of democracy, data, and AI.
The program will feature:
- Official Launch of the AIM-3D Public Portal – an interactive, AI-powered ecosystem for modeling and forecasting democratic development and decline.
- 10 Years of V-Dem: Networks and Numbers – a retrospective on the scientific achievements, global collaboration, and future directions of the V-Dem Project.
- Roundtable with V-Dem Principal Investigators and Project Managers – a discussion of the future of democracy research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and emerging opportunities for AI-driven social science.
