Lucy Graduate Scholars Launch Collaboration Hour Series

Lucy Collaboration Hour in October

The Lucy Graduate Scholars are excited to launch a Collaboration Hour Series open to both undergraduate and graduate students to brainstorm interdisciplinary research ideas. The event stems from the need to bring students from different disciplines together to collaboratively discuss how to address issues that are at the interface of data and society. Through this event series, students have the ability to meet others outside of their own disciplines, share ideas, find collaborators, start new research projects, and get feedback on ongoing research.

The first Collaboration Hour took place on October 28th, where a group of 18 students came together to discuss topics including: Environment & Sustainability, Medicine & Individual Well-being, International Development & Education, and Societal Impacts of Artificial Intelligence over Halloween-themed drinks and treats. Each topic had students from different research backgrounds who discussed the problems associated with a societal issue and how, through interdisciplinary work, each issue could be solved.
